just venting... and all the other stuffs

as of writing, i am not really doing anything that is worth my while. am here in OR 2, waiting for this lap appy to finish, though it looks like it'll take a little longer coz geoff's "technically" operating-- he's the surgical resident. and mike (dr. frimer) is just talking him through the procedure. we can't really complain for this is a teaching hospital and we all went through the stage wherein "everyone" waited for "you" patiently. geoff is good, he learns fast and he listens. he works well with nurses, too. which is/are great -- makes things easier for all the staffs.

after this case, we have 2 hip cases -- 1 DHS and 1 left Austin Moore. i asked margie if she wanted to scrub for the austin moore but it took her longer to think about it than saying: "that's great!" when if offered that i will do it for her instead. i thought why can't i just get a straight YES or NO rather than beat around the bush?!!! gee! i get so impatient when that thing happens.

i went for dinner at 1700 and when i went back to the room, they are still putting on the second endoloop. and speaking of dinner, i had a pork stew and a basmati rice straight from the cafeteria. i was too lazy to make some lunch for myself. it was not the best pork stew but there are not much of choices upstairs. then after i have finished my meal, i headed for the change room so that i can brush me teeth and i saw that i just missed carlo's call by 2 minutes! dang!!! two darn minutes!!!! bummer! so, i checked my voicemail and there he was wondering where i was. i don't know why, though coz i told him last week and everyday this week that i am working evening this week. oh well, i gues there goes his memory lapse again, eh. poor carlo.... and sweet carlo.

the surgery's still underway, and as usual, margie came back from lunch 10 minutes late. it's ok. we're not that busy anyway. and yeah! i am scrubbing for the austin moore-- a hip surgery. had a brief chat with glen (dr. dong), our gas man. he 'welcomed' me back and he wondered what had happened to me since he didn't see for a long time. when i told him why, he wished me well and he told me not to be burden about how other people will think of it. what matters is i am back now and i look better now-- meaning, i am not as stressed or whatsoever.

it's quarter to six in the afternoon, geoff is already suturing the belly-button--- that's where the ten-millimeter trocar went earlier. and that means, we're done with this case. finally!!!! :)

now, it's my turn to set up OR 4 (ortho room) for the hip. got to get my gloves and my sutures as well. so, am outta here....

i wonder who is setting me up? i am pretty sure it's not margie. i hope it's not her coz she talks a lot!... *whew!*
