just a few weeks ago, i had the pleasure of meeting a new friend. a quite interesting person indeed.
since this person wanted to remain anonymous, let me call this person, MR. SNUFFLEUPAGUS, as coined by my friend. and it's looks like i will be the big bird here then, eh. as we all know, mr. snuffleupagus is big bird's sort of imaginary best friend in the sesame street. i grew up watching that show and loving big bird, ernie, bert, grover, kermit the frog, oscar, cookiemonster, the count.... oh well. *sigh!*
anyways, going back to this friend of mine, he is a 'he'. pretty obvious and he has got this 'name' that will make you think twice as to whether you want to talk to him or to have anything to do with him. but i guess, first impression doesn't really last, eh. his omnimous name doesn't precede him.... in fact, i realised he has got this so soft spot. "same time next year" sort of gave him away. who would have thought that a guy like him with a very 'strong' name would love 'same time next year' and 'casablanca'? cool, eh! since then, i found the person that i can relate with when it comes to mushy movies---hehehe. it is nice being able to talk to someone who know what you are talking about and liking the same movies. makes the conversation fun and smooth-sailing, if i may add.
another soft side of mr. snuffleupagus is his passion with the rain, kids and life. right there and then, i told myself i have found a new friend. then come the exchanges of email. there i found out he writes well. he talks about himself with utmost anonymomity--- that was an excellent move, eh. he wanted to see how effective he is in telling me about himself without really telling me who he is and what he does--- err??? something like that. and i thought that was funny yet interesting. and that's the reason why he ended up as 'mr. snuffleupagus' *wink*.... a friend.
his writing is so creative and graphic. as you read on to his descriptions about the places he'd been, it's as if you're in that place, too. the feeling, the sights, and all. i have been complimenting him on that and i hope he sees it as such. and having said that, i invited him to join mukamo and i hope he will become a member of the RSD group so i can read more from him.... and the rest of the members will see his works.
i really hope he will take that into consideration coz it is such a waste if he won't share it to the public....
did i ever mentioned that i am glad to have met 'mr. snuffleupagus'? ... i am! and his email is such an eye-candy!
thanks a lot, mr. snuffleupagus! :)
